Assembly Bill No. 442--An Act relating to the department of motor vehicles and public safety; authorizing the director of the department to appoint agents to assist in carrying out certain duties of the department; limiting the compensation of those agents; eliminating the fee for changing the address on a driver's license; making various changes relating to identification cards; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.
Assemblywoman Chowning moved that the bill be referred to the Committee on Transportation.

Assembly Bill No. 443--An Act relating to the department of motor vehicles and public safety; requiring that drivers' licenses and identification cards issued by the department contain a unique number that is not based on the social security number of the licensee or card holder; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.

Assembly Bill No. 195.
Bill read third time.
The following amendment was proposed by Assemblywoman Ohrenschall:
Amendment No. 266.
Amend section 1, page 2, by deleting lines 3 through 13 and inserting:
"by [registered or] certified mail.".
Amend section 1, page 2, line 41, by deleting "served" and inserting "[served] sent".
Amend section 1, pages 2 and 3, by deleting lines 42 through 44 on page 2 and lines 1 through 4 on page 3, and inserting:
"subsection 1. In addition, if the recreational vehicle or mobile home is located in a mobile home park designated for older persons pursuant to federal law, the vehicle or home may not be sold unless a copy of the demand is sent, at the same time and in the same manner as it is sent pursuant to subsection 1, to the specialist for the rights of elderly persons in the aging services division of the department of human resources.".
Amend the bill as a whole by adding a new section designated sec. 2, following section 1, to read as follows:
"Sec. 2. Chapter 427A of NRS is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section to read as follows:
Upon receiving a copy of a demand from a landlord pursuant to subsection 4 of NRS 108.315, the specialist for the rights of elderly persons shall:
1. Contact the tenant or subtenant of the recreational vehicle or mobile home and determine whether the tenant or subtenant has any money with which to pay the delinquent rent or rent and utilities;
2. Determine whether there are any available sources of money to the tenant or subtenant that may be used to pay the delinquent rent or rent and utilities; and
3. Provide advice and assistance to the tenant or subtenant concerning the delinquent rent or rent and utilities.
".
